Mike Wilson on Scalability

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Mike Wilson has been a friend and colleague for over 10 years.  He’s forgotten more about programming than I probably ever learned.  The guy has been on the cutting edge of technology advances from the moment I first started using a Commodore PET and Radio Shack TRS-80 (and teletype interfaces with paper tape readers to timeshare on God Only Knows What).  From the first networked cash registers to Oracle’s entrance in the Relational Database market to eBay and virtual worlds – Mike has been There!

He’s started a new series of posts on his blog about his experience with scaling things.  He writes well and the posts are informative and enjoyable.  His first post, discussing “Bright Shiny Objects” discusses how one should think about, play with and employ new technologies.
